Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Amenities

Do you provide linens and towels? and is daily maid service included?

Yes,we provide linen for each bed and towels (one bath towel, one hand towel and one washcloths) for each guest.

No, A Night in Rome doesn't offer neither a weekly cleaning service nor a daily maid service. For weekly or longer stay we'll give you an extra set of bed linens and towels so that you can do all by yourself. We prefer to leave you free to do what you want and when you want! Anyway, if you want to ask for many cleaning hours you should ask for it when you make the reservation (in this case cleaning hours should be paid directly to the maid), otherwise we could not provide for it . Final cleaning is INCLUDED in the overall apartment rental cost, we kindly ask you to throw away garbage and wash plates. Thank yoy!

Is there an additionable bed for extra guests?

All our apartments have an extra sofa bed in the living room. Domus e Insula can comfortably host up to 3 people and Villa up to 5. We kindly ask you, when you make the reservation, to tell us the exact number of guest so that we can organize the sofa bed. Please send an e-mail to know the additional costs and have more information about it.

Can I have extra sets of keys?

We usually supply a single set of keys, but if you need another one and you ask it at the moment of reservation we will give you the second set without problems. Pay attention to your keys because if you loose or you forget them inside the apartment you have to pay a minimum 50 euro charge!

May I smoke in the apartment?

All the apartments are no-smoking. If you want, is possible to smoke outside, in the external court (Domus and Insula) or on the balcony (Villa)

Do your apartments have air conditioning?

All our apartments have air conditioning included. Domus has a portable air conditioning (you can easily move it from a room to another), Insula has one fixed in the living room and Villa has one in the bedroom.

Is the cost of heating included in the rental rate?

For short term stay heating is included in the rental rate and runs on a pre-set timer from November through March. Generally the heat comes on for 2-3 hours in the morning and 2-3 hours in the evening, and this keeps the apartment at a consistent, comfortable temperature. The individual radiator intensity can be increased or decreased during run times but timer cannot be adjusted without incurring in additional charges. For long term stay (a month and more) all utility costs (heating, light, gas) are not included in the rental rate and will be paid apart.

At what time is the check-in? And when do I have to check-out?

If you arrive before check in time we cannot guarantee that the apartment will be ready before 2 p.m. , but you can leave your luggage if you arrive earlier. How can I reach the apartment from the Airport or from Termini Station?

Are the apartments close to any underground/subway stations?

The Trastevere neighbourhood where Domus and Insula are located and the Rome historical centre in general, are not well-served by the 2 underground lines that cross at Termini station. A lot of this has to do with the difficulty of building underground lines beneath archaeological areas. The closest Metro stations to Domus and Insula are Piazza di Spagna (Line A) and Piramide (Line B)which is near to the other our apartment Villa (5 minutes by bus) located in testaccio neighborhood. On the other hand all our apartments are very well-connected to the rest of the city by buses.

Should I rent a car and park near the apartments?

We don’t recommend you to rent a car while in Rome: besides the chaotic drivers and traffic, parking is nearly non-existent and often reserved only to residents. Moreover, many downtown areas are completely closed to traffic during certain hours of the day, and Testaccio and Trastevere are closed to non-resident traffic in the mornings and during certain hours of the weekend. There is a large car park/parking lot at Porta Portese area, about a 15-20 minute walk from the apartments located in Trastevere (Domus and Insula) and 10 minutes far from Testaccio (Villa), at a cost of €8 per day. Parking in the neighbourhood is extremely limited but if you do find a parking spot, the cost is €1 per hour with a parking meter which you will have to continually feed, keeping in mind that non-resident cars are not allowed in the neighbourhood 24 hours a day. Parking permits are not available for non-residents and therefore we are unable to provide our guests with a parking permit.
